Assistant Director - Admissions
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admissions P–16 Initiatives provides support for the development and execution of a comprehensive K–12 pipeline strategy that promotes college awareness, readiness, and enrollment. This position helps design and implement initiatives that engage students from middle school through high school, strengthen partnerships with school districts and community organizations, and increase student progression from initial interest to college enrollment and persistence—particularly through recruitment-focused activities and admissions alignment.
Position responsibilities:
- Serve as a key point of contact between the college and K–12 systems related to college access and pipeline efforts.
- Build relationships with counselors, principals, and district leadership to strengthen recruitment and engagement efforts.
- Support the development and execution of a multi-year K–12 pipeline strategy aligned with institutional enrollment goals.
- Design and implement middle school and high school college & career days on the college campus that ensure recruitment events and campus experiences align with targeted student outcomes (interactive visits, career exploration sessions, and introductory college readiness activities).
- Coordinate academic and career exploration activities that foster student belonging, college identity and early engagement initiatives that influence college-going behaviors prior to senior year.
- Support summer camps and recruitment programming that focus on career exploration and college awareness.
- Assist in designing and implementing programs and pathways that prepare middle school students for dual-credit and college-level expectations and success.
- Support promotion of clear academic and workforce pathways for high school students and their families.
- Support bridge programs and transition initiatives for high school seniors moving into college.
- Identify or create systems that track student progression from early engagement through enrollment.
- Compile and analyze participation and conversion data to identify gaps and improve conversion rates.
- Assist with regular reporting on program effectiveness.
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communication, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, including experience working within K–12 environments (e.g., schools, districts, or K–12 program partnerships)
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing programs
- Event planning, outreach, and marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or a related field
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, including experience working within K–12 environments (e.g., schools, districts, or K–12 program partnerships)
- Experience in a community college setting
- Experience with grant-funded programs
- Strong background in data analysis and reporting
- Strong understanding of college readiness and student transition needs

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office environment with occasional weather-related event coordination
- No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Frequent travel to K–12 campuses
- Occasional evening and weekend work

All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment.
