East Texas Oil Museum Group Tour Guide (Temporary-April/May)
Position Details:
The East Texas Oil Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable temporary part-time Group Tour Guide to lead guided tours for school groups, community organizations, and visitors. This position requires a passion for history, strong public speaking skills, and exceptional customer service
Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging and informative tours for groups of up to 40 people.
- Present historical information in an engaging and accessible manner.
- Assist in transitions between groups.
- Provide excellent customer service and address visitor inquiries.
- Assist with group check-in and provide necessary materials.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of professional experience in a customer-facing role.
- Knowledge of the East Texas oil and gas industry and its historical significance.
- Strong time management skills and attention to details.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences, including school groups and community organizations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for history and education.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences of all ages.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.
- Availability during the months of April and May for 10-12 hours per week.
- Previous experience in public speaking, education, or museum work is a plus.
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
- The rate of pay is up to $10-$12 per hour depending on experience for up to 19 hours per week.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
