Part-Time – Fitness Center Opener
Position Details:
Kilgore College is looking for energetic Fitness Center Team Members to be the front line of an exceptional member experience with a focus on building relationships with members and guests. At KC Excel Fitness Center, we strive to offer quality fitness services to students and the community, creating a welcoming space for all.
Responsibilities:
- Shifts will be Monday through Friday from 5:45 am until 9:30 am; no more than 19 hours per week.
- Provide exceptional member service to students, members and guests.
- Guiding members on how to properly use and/or setup equipment
- Being friendly and courteous
- Signing up new members
- Data-entry
- Answering general inquiries in-person or over the phone
- Re-rack weights
- Equipment setup and housekeeping/cleaning duties, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Customer service & handling phone calls experience
- Ability to lift 50-80 pounds several times during a shift
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Point of Sale and cash handling skills
- CPR/AED/First Aid certified
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Prior experience in the fitness industry

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/gym environment
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 to 80 pounds.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
- The rate of pay is to $10 per hour for up to 19 hours per week.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
