Specialist - Student Accounts
Position summary:
The Student Accounts Coordinator is responsible for Kilgore College’s student financial accounts and integrating the billing functions with related offices.
Position responsibilities:
- Maintain billing charge codes in the College ERP (Jenzabar)
- Review and disburse refunds of student accounts
- Maintain records on past due accounts sent to collection agency
- Complete annual 1098-T reporting
- Trouble-shoot for billing inconsistencies
- Provide customer support to students
- Maintain accurate billing and deadline information in catalog, on website, and in registration schedules and calendars
- Serve as backup for cashier functions
- Process drops for unpaid student accounts
- Address and resolve student disputes
- Place holds on student accounts for unpaid balances
- Analyze data outputs and work with IT, Jenzabar, and other vendors on discrepancies
- Address inefficiencies in data and work with Jenzabar, IT, and appropriate vendors to optimize processes and data outputs
- Other duties as assigned. As part of the Business Office team, the Student Accounts Coordinator will provide assistance to the cashiers and accountants, as well as coordinate with other offices on campus to ensure that all student billing and related functions are handled accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Serve on various campus committees as requested and appropriate
- Attend necessary conference and seminars to remain current in the field
- Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years full-time related work experience, preferably in a similar role
- Experience with functions in Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to handle high level of stress
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent organizational and technical skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be self-motivated and task oriented

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office and classroom environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
