Liaison – Workforce Development BSTEM
Position summary:
This position has primary responsibility for the marketing and outreach of Continuing Education training opportunities for Business, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (BSTEM), as well as scheduling classes and identifying faculty to deliver instruction. This position works closely with the Instructional Division Deans to strategize ways to increase Continuing Education and Workforce Education training needs. This position works to integrate seamless transitions from Continuing Education course work to credit course work and programs.
Position responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Instructional Division Dean and credit faculty to identify Continuing Education and Workforce Education training needs.
- Works with Kilgore College marketing department to conduct outreach activities.
- Maintains positive working relationships with business/industry, public entities, students, faculty and staff.
- Helps to integrate Continuing Education and Workforce Development into the credit instructional program.
- Recruits, screens, and advises students
- Works with Grant Writer to secure funding for training incumbent workers.
- Identifies instructors and assists them with curriculum development and implementation.
- Works with the Instructional Division Dean and Department Chairs to develop course schedules.
- Coordinates evaluation of course and instructor effectiveness, to include student and business/industry satisfaction.
- Works with business/industry to identify gaps in worker education and training.
- Works with the Director of Contract Training to help clients and potential customers develop workable client-centered training.
- Meets specific targets for generating contact hour enrollment and works to increase the enrollment in Continuing Education courses.
- Adheres to Texas Higher Education Board rules and regulations to ensure maximum contact hour generation.
- Attends advisory committee meetings and meets with Economic Development Corporations.
- Participates in promotional activities and trade shows.
- Manages budget.
- This position requires working evening hours to support the schedule of many continuing education classes.

- Associate’s degree and a minimum of three to five years of experience in business and industry. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Requires professional communication and salesmanship/marketing skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in Computer skills.
- Must be a well-organized, self-motivated, self-starting and high energy individual.
- Requires attention to detail and effective customer service skills.

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very little physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

- Compensation for this 12-month position is $44,985.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
